Wyatt is telling me about Occupy Newfoundland and it’s kind of making me mad.

How can Canadians protest on this issue? It’s a wholly American issue. Canadians don’t have to worry about things like not being able to afford healthcare. Canadians aren’t dealing with this unfair distribution of wealth that Americans are.

Oh… they’re not making the same protest. They’re protesting against the premier of Newfoundland (which is the same thing as a governor). But they’re using the name that has been given to the American demonstrations against the banks and the distribution of wealth and the class struggles that are occurring in America.

So they’re not protesting anything even remotely similar to what the Occupy protests are about. But they’re using the same name. So their demonstrations will be confused with the ones that are happening here. That’s cool.
